Several years ago, I was anxious and depressed

Let me tell you a little bit about me. I grew up an only child with my single mom who managed and taught at the neighborhood yoga studio, studied to become an herbalist, massage therapist, Reiki Master, and an acupuncturist. Alternative healing inspired all areas of my life as a kid. And still does.

After graduating from Colorado College with a Bachelor of Arts in English / Creative Writing in 2000, I knew that I wanted to pursue my dream of becoming a doctor, so I began taking pre-med classes at the University of Colorado.

Meanwhile, I was experiencing debilitating monthly migraines with my cycle, cramps that had me doubled over on the ground, pale as a sheet and vomiting from the pain, increasing depression and anxiety that was becoming harder and harder to cope with (sometimes I couldn’t leave the house), and to top it all off I was questioning my marriage and career path. In short, I can totally understand where you’re coming from. If you’ve ever struggled with being a woman and all that it entails, believe me, I get it.

Thank goodness for my mom and Chinese medicine

I will always be thankful for the day my mom told me she made the decision to go to Chinese medical school, and I’m even more thankful that she encouraged me to try it.

I’ll never forget my first acupuncture treatment from Dr. Cheng. I remember walking out to my car after the session feeling like I had never felt before. My cramps and anxiety were gone, and a tremendous weight had been lifted from my body.

After years of frustration with western medical doctors and their limited offerings of Advil and birth control as solutions to my problems, this seemed like nothing short of a miracle.

I felt an instant clarity and lightness. I knew this was the kind of medicine I had been looking for. Six weeks later I enrolled at the Colorado School of Traditional Chinese Medicine with my mom.

I came out on the other side, all in one piece, feeling better than ever

My healing journey consisted of acupuncture and Chinese herbs, discovering my food intolerances, changing my diet and lifestyle, divorce, good old fashioned therapy, a number of spectacular personal development/spirituality books and mentors, and some serious soul searching. I am elated to tell you that I came out on the other side all in one piece, feeling better than I’ve ever felt before, and living the life I’ve always wanted.

Now I love my life

I no longer suffer from migraines, anxiety, depression, or cramps with my monthly cycle (yes, it’s possible!). I live in harmony with my cycle and honor my body through each phase. I successfully healed my body and my fertility from severe endometriosis and was able to have two healthy pregnancies and give birth to two healthy, beautiful girls.

As a result, I created my online programs, Fertile Woman and Pregnant Woman to empower women from all over the world to become their own fertility experts, heal and bring their bodies into balance, and have healthy pregnancies and babies. Currently, I am creating my third online nutrition program in the Whole Woman Series, Wonder Woman, that will teach women how to get their body back after baby.

In addition to my acupuncture practice, and my online nutrition programs, I am passionate about wellness business mentoring my Dynamic Woman team. Together with my trusted product partner, USANA Health Sciences, I mentor women from around the world to build successful, thriving wellness businesses with heart and integrity so they can live their passions and empower other women to do the same.

I feel unbelievably grateful to be able to live my passion of empowering the whole woman:  physically, mentally, emotionally, spiritually, and financially.

Why I decided to specialize in women’s health and nutrition

I strongly believe that no woman should have to suffer through a period, pregnancy, menopause or any other stage related to a woman’s life. Nothing brings me greater fulfillment than helping women recover their feminine power and feel like her best self. I am overjoyed that I have been able to help so many women overcome similar challenges that I have experienced in my life.

You can live your best life, too

If you are struggling with your health or if you’re realizing that your lifestyle is not healthy, sustainable or nourishing you on all levels, I want you to know that change is possible. Actually, as my mom would say, not only is change possible, it is the only thing you can count on! Whatever obstacle or challenge you are experiencing, I’m here to tell you that you can take control starting right now and make significant changes. If  you’re not sure where to start, or you’d like some guidance, support, or a cheering section along the way, stick with me and I’ll teach you everything I know.
